We would like to announce a partial change to the regulations regarding the use of chest protectors with soft covers for Women’s Foil at The 2nd Tokyo International Fencing Competition (TIFC 2026).

Although this regulation was originally listed as mandatory in the initial tournament guidelines, we have received numerous inquiries regarding its specifications and availability. Considering the current shortage of stock in fencing equipment shops, we have decided to adjust the requirement for specific age categories to ease the burden on participants and ensure smooth competition operations.

■ Applicable Discipline & Categories

• Women’s Foil: U12, U10, U8

■ Regulation Change

• Before Change: Plastic chest protector with soft cover is “Mandatory”
• After Change: Plastic chest protector with soft cover is “Recommended”

*Please note that for Women’s Foil in the U14, U17, and Veteran (O40–O70) categories, the use of plastic chest protectors with soft covers remains strictly Mandatory.
